TRADITIONS AND GASTRONOMIE

Saint-Laurent-de-gosse is a rural town with a population of just over 500. It is located on the banks of the Adour river, at the Urt bridge. This metal work designed in 1886 by Gustave Eiffel connects the Landes to the Basque country by crossing the Adour. Crossing it, one notices on the north shore the castle of Roll-Montpellier (18th century). It testifies to the importance of river trade that prevailed until the advent of the engine at the beginning of the 20th century. The village is located on the upper part of the village: the church of the fifteenth and the adjoining town hall face the wall on the left (covered room dedicated to the Basque pelota).

It’s impossible to talk about Saint-Laurent-de-Gosse without mentioning the gastronomy and conviviality that characterise the village festivities (early August), during which a thousand guests flock each year to share the Sunday meal and watch the entertainment.
